Blue Economy, Agriculture & Livelihoods

Coastal and agricultural livelihoods depend directly on the health of the land and water around them. This area supports both the income and the ecosystem at the same time.

What this covers

A coastal fisher safety and cold-chain cooperative model improves safety equipment and post-catch handling, so less of what is caught is lost before it reaches a buyer. A blue-green resilience project restores mangroves while adding a beekeeping livelihood component, giving the community a direct income reason to protect the ecosystem it depends on.

A circular agro-ecosystem programme, running as a first-year bridge pilot with a larger multi-year phase in development with European research partners, connects agricultural production, waste and soil health into one system. A women-led mango value-addition project turns surplus mango into processed, packaged products with a real sales channel.

How we work

Each project is designed so environmental protection and household income sit inside the same activity, reinforcing each other over time.
